From January 10th to 13th, you are invited to join the monastic and lay sangha of the Healing Spring Monastery for a week-end of practice.
ThisWeek-end is the last of our Rains Retreat, the closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, January the 12th in Verdelot monastery.
Rains Retreat: Deepening the
The Winter Retreat is a time especially destined for monastics, during which time they do not travel and so can devote themselves to their own practice and deepen it, cultivate brotherhood and have the happiness of practicing together.
This is a very appropriate time for friends who wish to intensify their practice and enjoy the collective energy of mindfulness generated by the four-fold community by living, practicing and working together. We can grow and strengthen our spiritual roots.
Generate a powerful collective energy
During the Rains Retreat we have Days of Mindfulness every Sunday for Dharma Talk and a full day of practice. The teachings will be in French, English or Vietnamese, with simultaneous translations in English and French if necessary.
For every Day of Mindfulness we will have the chance to spend the day and practice with the sisters from Maison de l’Inspir, who just moved to their new house within walking range of the brother’s monastery.
Who is the Rains Retreat for?
The Rains Retreat is most appropriate for those who are already familiar with Plum Village practices, but is also open to newcomers. After each day of arrival, an introduction to the practice will be offered.
As we are a monastery of brothers, only men and couples will be accepted for this retreat.
- The arrival day for this week-end will be Friday, October 25th, from 3 pm to 9 pm. To maintain the stability of the retreat please plan to join us for a full week-end (going back on sunday evening or monday morning).
- Please keep in mind that opening a new monastery is an adventure that takes time and that we will not be able to offer immediately the same conditions of comfort and organization as those of Plum Village.
