Why we need a new Practice Centre near Paris
Maison de l’Inspir of Plum Village is Thay’s hand stretched towards Paris and its region to give help to people who are suffering.
We are lucky to have a small monastery called “Maison de l’Inspir”, in Noisy-le Grand, near Paris where we welcome our lay friends to practice mindfulness four days a week. Our friends follow the practice of our Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. They come to drop their worries and daily stress, and thanks to our collective practice, they regain the joy of living. People have many difficult situations to face: divorces, family conflicts, addictions, burnouts, living in a busy city. Our friends tell us that we are like a breath of fresh air in the Paris region.
Maison de l’Inspir is a place of loving kindness, where our sisters help practitioners to learn how to look deeply into their lives and find the best solution to their problems. We can help them reconcile in their own families with their children, partners, parents, and in their workplace. Here they rediscover the beauty of the present moment and its true nature.
As the number of people wanting to participate in our retreats is growing our house can no longer meet all the needs and demands. This is why we have asked our brothers to come and help support us in the Paris region. The idea to create a monastery for our brothers will allow us to meet the urgent need that is resonating over Paris and its region.
Thich Nhat Hanh has entrusted his dream to us: to give Paris and its region the beauty of his teachings through retreats in order to relieve everyone’s sufferings.
